Deep Discipleship is a course for adults who want more than a surface understanding of the Christian faith.
Twenty-nine Thursday nights across three school terms in 2027, walking through the whole story of the Bible, what Christians believe and why, and the practices that shape a life.
What a Thursday night looks like
- 7.15pmSupper togetherCome early to eat, chat and catch up with each other before we start.
- 7.30pmAround the tableWe start in our groups, talking through the week's pre-reading and hearing how everyone's week has been.
- 7.45pmTeachingThirty to forty-five minutes on the week's question, a mix of video from the people who wrote the course and live teaching from our own team. Then back to the table to discuss it.
- ThenStory, practice or prayerSomeone tells their story, or we learn a spiritual practice and try it together, or we spend the time in contemplative prayer and worship.
- To finishPraying for each otherBack around the tables to pray for one another, and done by 9.30pm.

Is this for me?
Deep Discipleship is for anyone following Jesus who wants to go deeper, wherever you are starting from. Last time we ran it, young adults sat around tables with people who had been following Jesus for decades, and that mix was what participants valued most.
- You want to grow, whether your faith is new or long established.
- You would rather work things out alongside other people than on your own.
- You have questions you have never had a good place to ask.
- You want what you believe to shape how you live, not just what you know.
You do not need to know a lot already, and you do not need to arrive with answers. We do theology together, in community, and the learning goes in every direction around the table.

Who teaches it?+
A mix. Much of the teaching comes on video from the people who wrote the course: JT English, Jen Wilkin and Kyle Worley. The rest is taught live by our own team, headed up by Darren Rowse and Kimberley Chan. Every table also has a leader who stays with your group for the whole course.
How much preparation is there?+
Each week there is reading to do before you come, usually somewhere between a chapter and several chapters of Scripture. Some weeks there is other reading as well, or a podcast to listen to, and there is a practice to try. The first fifteen minutes of every night is spent discussing it, so you will get far more out of the evening if you arrive having read.
Do I need to be a Christian to come?+
Deep Discipleship is built for people who have already decided to follow Jesus. If that is you, at whatever stage, you belong here. If you are still working out what you believe, we would point you to Alpha instead. It is designed for exactly that, and it is a better place to start.
Can I do it with my small group?+
You are very welcome to come along together, and a small group did exactly that last time. One thing to know first: we deliberately mix the tables so each one holds a spread of ages and stages of faith, which means you will not be seated with your own group. You will see them at the start and end of each night, and you can use the term breaks to catch up with your group properly.
What if I have to miss a few weeks?+
That is fine, and expected. Holidays get booked, life happens. We would love you there every week, but when you cannot be, we will send you the material so you can catch up before the next session.
It is a long course. Is it worth it?+
We think so, but you do not have to take our word for it. Come along to the first few weeks and see what it is like. From week 4 we ask people to commit to the rest of the course, because a table only works when the same people keep showing up for each other.
What happens after I express interest?+
You don't need to do anything. Expressing interest simply tells us you are thinking about it. Later in 2026 we will be in touch to invite you to an information night, where you can hear more about the course, meet the team and get a taste of the teaching. Registration opens after that.
