Summary of Linda’s Message
In this week's message, Linda Bailey reflected on the idea of longing for the "ultimate place"—a destination, experience, or moment where we feel at peace and never want it to end. She drew comparisons to favourite holidays, joyful parties, or even the comfort of a warm bed, illustrating how we all seek moments of contentment and rest.
The message then turned to the story of Jesus. Before He was born, Jesus was in the ultimate place—dwelling in perfect unity, power, and glory with God. Yet, He chose to leave that place to come to Earth, humbling Himself as a baby born into simplicity, ultimately sacrificing His life on the cross.
Why would He make such a sacrifice? Because of His immense love for us. As John 3:16 reminds us, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." This Christmas, we are invited to remember that Jesus gave up His ultimate place so that we could find ours in a close, eternal relationship with God.
