The purpose of this Lenten series is to help our church personally and pastorally engage with four main theological perspectives on the cross. The four perspectives we will be looking at are:
Week 1 – The Cross as Ransom - how the Cross purchases our freedom from slavery.
Week 2 – The Cross as Justice - how the Cross satisfies the penalty of sin – aka Penal Substitution.
Week 3 – The Cross as Love - how the Cross expresses God’s love for and identification with humans.
Week 4 – The Cross as Victory - how the Cross defeats the demonic powers of evil.
